Pune, 7th November 2025: The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has launched an aggressive recovery drive this month to collect outstanding electricity bill dues that had piled up during the festive season. Non-agricultural consumers in the Pune circle collectively owe тВ╣436 crore to the power utility.
Chief Engineer of MSEDCLтАЩs Pune Circle, Sunil Kakade, said that the recovery campaign, which had slowed down due to Dussehra and Diwali, has now been resumed with full force. тАЬEach sub-division has formed dedicated teams, and every employee has been given a specific recovery target. We appeal to consumers to cooperate by paying their arrears along with the current monthтАЩs bill to avoid inconvenience,тАЭ Kakade stated.
According to official data, there are over 38 lakh consumers in the Pune circle, out of which 8,44,381 consumers have pending dues amounting to тВ╣436.49 crore. During the festival period, MSEDCL had prioritized bill collection without disconnecting supply, but many consumers failed to clear their dues, resulting in a rise in arrears.

Kakade warned that connections of defaulters could be disconnected if bills remain unpaid. тАЬConsumers who fail to pay will face disconnection. Once disconnected, reconnection fees will be charged тАФ тВ╣310 for single-phase and тВ╣520 for three-phase connections. To avoid such inconvenience, customers must clear their dues promptly,тАЭ he added.
MSEDCL has also highlighted multiple payment options to make bill settlement easier. Consumers can pay through authorized bill payment centers, by scanning the QR code printed on their bills, or online via the MSEDCL mobile app, www.mahadiscom.in, or popular UPI platforms such as BHIM, PhonePe, Google Pay, and Paytm. Customers who pay online on time are also eligible for discounts.
тАЬAll consumers in the Pune circle should cooperate by paying their electricity bills promptly to avoid penalties, disconnection, and unnecessary inconvenience,тАЭ Kakade appealed.
