Pune, 7th November 2025: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) will establish a dedicated cell to address issues faced by entrepreneurs and accelerate industrial growth within its jurisdiction, Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase announced on Friday.
Speaking at a workshop organized for office bearers of industrial organizations at Madgulkar Hall in Akurdi, Dr. Mhase said that PMRDA is ready to implement government-level decisions aimed at promoting industry and business. тАЬIt is important to resolve the problems of industrial organizations and entrepreneurs for sustainable industrial and business growth. PMRDA is taking immediate steps at the taluka office level to identify and address these challenges positively,тАЭ he stated.
To streamline operations, PMRDA will create a full-time separate cell comprising an Assistant Town Planner and an Assistant Director dedicated to resolving entrepreneursтАЩ concerns. Dr. Mhase also announced that the authority will decentralize certain powers to the taluka-level offices to expedite decisions on building permits, fire no-objection certificates, and other approvals.
During the workshop, representatives from several industrial associationsтАФincluding Motilal Sankla and Rajiv Ranka from the Chakan Industrial Association, Michael Peter from the Deccan Chamber of Commerce and Industries Association, and Appasaheb Shinde from the Western Maharashtra MIDC Chamber Association FederationтАФraised various issues concerning industrial development. The Metropolitan Commissioner addressed their queries and shared details about upcoming development projects across Chakan, Ranjangaon, Hinjawadi, Talegaon, and Pirangut.
Additional Metropolitan Commissioner Deepak Singla, Director of Development Permission and Planning Avinash Patil, and senior PMRDA officials were also present at the event.
208 Projects Planned to Boost Infrastructure
Dr. Mhase informed that PMRDA has designed infrastructure facilities not only to support industrial and business growth but also to benefit citizens across the region. тАЬOver the next five years, 208 projects worth тВ╣33,700 crore have been planned to improve infrastructure. In the coming days, works worth тВ╣900 crore will be initiated,тАЭ he said.
Quarterly Meetings to Address Industry Concerns
To maintain continuous engagement with industry representatives, PMRDA will hold meetings every three months with office bearers of industrial organizations. тАЬCollective efforts will be made through Gram Panchayats, Municipal Councils, MIDC, and PMRDA to ensure smooth execution of development works and promote industrial progress,тАЭ Dr. Mhase added.
