Pimpri-Chinchwad, 5th December 2025: With the Maharashtra Legislature’s winter session beginning in Nagpur on December 8, Pimpri-Chinchwad MLA Shankar Jagtap said he will raise a series of critical civic, industrial and public safety issues impacting residents and the growing IT hub in Hinjawadi.
Jagtap said he has submitted 48 starred questions covering local and statewide concerns, and will push for “eye-catching suggestions” aimed at government accountability. Despite the short duration of the December 8–14 session, he assured he will make every effort to ensure Pimpri-Chinchwad’s urgent needs get attention.
He emphasised the demand for a fast-track labour court in Hinjawadi to address grievances of IT professionals and workers, along with a comprehensive safety audit for companies after recent industrial accidents. He also called for a structured training mechanism to curb mishaps caused by untrained drivers, and strict action on overloading of heavy vehicles in the industrial belt.
Pawana River Project, Lift Safety, Failed CCTV System in Focus
The legislator said he will seek adequate funds and expedited implementation of the Pawana River Improvement Project, calling it a pressing environmental and infrastructure issue for the city.
Concerns raised by citizens regarding malfunctioning CCTV cameras installed at huge cost will also be brought to the notice of the House. In addition, he will demand action to fix the growing lift safety risks in high-rise housing societies across Pimpri-Chinchwad.
Jagtap reiterated his demand to cancel the recently submitted Draft Development Plan of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, citing errors and growing opposition from residents. He added that he will press for cancellation of a controversial liquor shop licence in Kalewadi–Rahatani following public protests.

Among other key demands he plans to highlight are:

• Action on the kidney transplant racket inquiry at Ruby Hall Clinic
• Clearing lakhs of pending ration card KYC applications
• Restoring MRI services at Aundh District Hospital
• Nutritious food distribution for malnourished children
• Immediate filling of 4,776 vacant posts in PCMC and over 1,000 teaching posts in the state
• Appointment of forensic experts at Sangvi Civil Hospital
• Review of ₹157 crore tender in PCMC Parks Department
• Better grievance redressal on TOD smart electricity meters
• Smooth transfer of Wakad–Hinjawadi cases to Pimpri court instead of Paud
• Cashless treatment options at municipal hospitals
• Property card distribution for long-term residents on reserved lands
Jagtap said the winter session will be used to “ensure strong intervention” on Pimpri-Chinchwad’s infrastructure, public safety, and administrative gaps, stressing that citizens expect timely solutions from the government.
