Pimpri, 18th December 2025: Police have registered a case against a shopkeeper for allegedly selling banned Chinese nylon manja, which poses a threat to both humans and birds. The action was taken on Tuesday night (December 16) in the Pimpri Gaon area.
Police Constable Kiran Jadhav lodged a complaint at the Pimpri Police Station, following which a case was registered against a 19-year-old shopkeeper. According to the police, the Maharashtra government has imposed a ban on the manufacture, sale, and use of nylon manja to prevent injuries and protect the environment.
Despite the ban, the accused allegedly procured nylon manja worth тВ╣36,000 from another individual for the purpose of sale. Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid at the storage location and seized the banned material. Further investigation is underway.
