Pimpri Chinchwad, 20th February 2026: Calling daily water supply a fundamental right of residents, corporator Rahul Kalate urged leaders across party lines to work collectively to resolve the cityтАЩs long-pending water issues and ensure regular distribution.
Speaking during the general body meeting of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), Kalate stressed that the matter affects the entire city and should not be politicised. He said both ruling and opposition representatives must set aside differences and focus on a single objective тАФ providing consistent daily water supply to citizens.
Representing Ward No. 25, which includes Wakad, Tathawade, and Punawale, he presented what attendees described as a detailed and firm argument on the issue. Several corporators also highlighted water shortages in their respective areas during the discussion, along with concerns related to stray dogs.
Kalate noted that the cityтАЩs water problem has remained unresolved for years and requires a comprehensive, long-term approach rather than isolated measures. He called on all elected representatives to prioritise a permanent solution so that every ward receives its rightful share of water.
