Pimpri, 7th March 2026: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has launched the ‘Mayor’s Medical Financial Assistance Scheme’ to support economically weaker residents in the city who are struggling to afford medical treatment.
The scheme has been introduced through the Citizens Public Charitable Trust of PCMC with the objective of providing financial assistance to patients suffering from serious illnesses or requiring costly medical treatment and surgeries.
The initiative has been launched under the leadership of Pimpri-Chinchwad Mayor Ravi Landge and Standing Committee Chairman Abhishek Barne. Under the scheme, financial assistance will be provided to eligible patients through cheques issued in the name of the concerned hospital to help cover treatment expenses.
Mayor Ravi Landge said the initiative aims to ensure that no resident is denied medical treatment due to financial constraints. “The scheme has been launched to ensure that needy citizens receive timely treatment and are not deprived of healthcare services because of financial difficulties. Providing support to economically weaker families for medical treatment is the primary objective of this initiative,” he said.
Civic officials said the scheme aims to reduce the financial burden on patients and enable them to access timely medical care.
To avail the benefits of the scheme, the patient or a family member must submit an application to the Mayor’s Office at the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. Applicants are required to submit supporting documents including a copy of the patient’s Aadhaar card, ration card, income certificate issued by the tehsildar’s office, a recommendation letter from the local corporator, and an estimated treatment cost certificate issued by the hospital with the doctor’s signature and stamp.
Officials stated that the details mentioned in the application must be accurate, and financial assistance will be approved only after verification of the submitted documents. Once approved, the financial aid will be issued through a cheque in the name of the hospital treating the patient.
