Pimpri Chinchwad, 13th March 2026: In a proactive move to prevent domestic gas shortages, Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey has issued strict directives to crack down on the illegal refilling of commercial gas cylinders from domestic supplies.
The directive comes against the backdrop of the ongoing war in Gulf countries. The administration is concerned that such international conflicts could lead to a shortage of domestic LPG. To ensure that the supply meant for households is not diverted, the Commissioner has ordered a complete ban on the illegal transfer of gas into commercial (business-use) tanks.
Commissioner Choubey has instructed all police stations under his jurisdiction, as well as the Crime Branch, to monitor and take stringent legal action against anyone found engaging in these illegal practices. The Commissionerate warned that any individual or entity found involved in such тАЬmalpracticesтАЭ would face the full force of the law.
The Police Commissioner has appealed to the citizens of Pimpri Chinchwad to remain vigilant. If any citizen witnesses the illegal refilling of gas from domestic cylinders into commercial ones, they are requested to report it immediately to the police.
