Pimpri Chinchwad, 24th March 2026: The general body of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) on Tuesday approved the civic bodyтАЩs annual budget for 2026тАУ27, with a Rs 414.22 crore increase in the Rs 9,322.17 crore budget that was presented by the administration to the standing committee last month.
The civic body has included around 1,100 new works across 32 wards based on recommendations by corporators and standing committee members, with a provision of Rs 196.90 crore earmarked for them.
The revised budget was presented by standing committee chairman Abhishek Barne to Mayor Ravi Landge, who approved it at the general body meeting on Tuesday. Municipal commissioner Vijay Suryawanshi and city secretary Mukesh Kolap were present.
Of the total budget, Rs 1,300 crore has been allocated for ongoing works, while Rs 200 crore has been set aside for new projects. The civic administration is expecting a rise in revenue, particularly from the building permission department, with an estimated increase of Rs 258 crore.
Officials said the resumption of government measurement and тАШno-objection certificateтАЩ processes has boosted residential and commercial projects. In addition, revenue of Rs 50 crore is expected from property tax, Rs 34 crore from hoarding permits and Rs 20 crore from water charges, along with gains from other sources.
To push ward-level development, the civic body has decided to allocate a separate fund of Rs 10 lakh to each corporator for urgent works in their respective areas. A total of Rs 13 crore has been earmarked for 128 corporators, which will be used for local works such as road repairs, drainage, footpaths and garden beautification.
The budget also includes a major water supply project to lay a parallel pipeline from Pavana dam to Nigdi, estimated at Rs 100 crore, of which Rs 40 crore has been allocated for the current year.
The civic body plans to decongest major junctions by making them signal-free, introduce a тАШpay and parkтАЩ policy and generate an additional Rs 40 crore revenue through the BRT corridor. Flyovers and grade separator projects are also set to be taken up.
In compliance with Supreme Court directives, the PCMC has also made a provision of Rs 6 crore for setting up shelters with a capacity to house 5,000 stray dogs.
