Pune, 1st April 2026: A fire broke out at a house near the MSEB office at Thermax Chowk in Pimpri Chinchwad on Tuesday night, triggering panic in the area. The incident occurred around 9.30 pm, officials said.
On receiving information, fire brigade teams from the PCMCтАЩs Pradhikaran and Chikhli fire stations rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control in a timely manner, preventing it from spreading to nearby houses.
Thick plumes of smoke were seen in the locality as the fire engulfed the house. However, prompt action by the fire department helped avert a major mishap. No casualties were reported in the incident.
Officials said household items, including a computer, television set, clothes, fans, electrical wiring and fibre material, were gutted in the fire, resulting in significant financial loss. The operation was carried out under the supervision of fire officer Gautam Ingawale.
The fire department has urged citizens to use electrical appliances safely and to immediately dial the emergency helpline number 101 in case of any such incidents.
