Pimpri Chinchwad, 22nd April 2026: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal CorporationтАЩs Building Permission and Unauthorised Construction Control Department has launched a large-scale demolition drive against illegal structures across the city.
As part of the drive, unauthorised RCC constructions spread over 530 square meter in Pimple Gurav and 1,545 square meter in the Navi Sangvi area were demolished, along with several other illegal structures.
In the D ward office jurisdiction, under the leadership of regional officer Pooja Dudhnale, demolition action was carried out in Ganesh Nagar, Sainath Nagar and Laxmi Nagar in Ward No. 29, Pimple Gurav, where unauthorised RCC constructions covering 530 square meter were removed.
Similarly, in the H ward office area, action was taken in Netaji Nagar, Gangarde Nagar, Vinayak Nagar and Gajanan Nagar of Ward No. 31, where 1,545 square meter of illegal RCC structures were demolished.
During inspections, the civic team found several unauthorised RCC constructions, sheds and illegal extensions at different locations. Based on these findings, structures spread across several thousand square feet were removed.
The intensified action follows a recent review by Municipal Commissioner Vijay Suryawanshi of zone-wise drives being carried out against illegal constructions and encroachments. During the meeting, he directed officials to further strengthen enforcement across the city.
Acting on these instructions, civic teams under the guidance of Additional Commissioner Trupti Sandbhor began a wider crackdown across city areas.
Commissioner Vijay Suryawanshi said strict action should continue against illegal constructions and encroachments in Pimpri Chinchwad. He also directed officials to regularly review the drives, conduct continuous inspections and take action against roadside hawkers operating stalls illegally.
