Pimpri Chinchwad, 27th April 2026: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Vijay Suryavanshi has directed civic officials to intensify action against encroachments, illegal water connections, unauthorised advertisements and constructions without permission across the city.
Chairing a review meeting with senior and zonal officers, Suryavanshi said the civic administration was committed to maintaining cleanliness and discipline in the city and asked residents to follow rules responsibly. He also appealed to citizens to verify whether a property has valid building permission before purchasing a flat or house.
Officials said special emphasis will be placed on cleanliness drives as part of the Swachh Survekshan 2025-26 campaign. The commissioner ordered immediate removal of illegal banners and hoardings put up on walls, telephone poles and MSEDCL distribution boxes. Authorities will also trace the mobile numbers displayed on such banners and issue notices to those responsible.
To make roads safer for pedestrians, the civic body will accelerate its тАЬencroachment-free footpathтАЭ campaign, with special squads operating at the ward level to clear obstructions from pavements.
Suryavanshi also ordered strict action against illegal water tap connections, directing officials to identify and disconnect unauthorised connections to curb water theft.
The commissioner warned that constructions being carried out without permission would face severe action, including demolition where required. He urged homebuyers not to invest in properties lacking sanctioned building approvals.
During the meeting, officials also reviewed garbage collection, waste segregation and waste management systems. Suryavanshi asked all departments to work in coordination to help Pimpri Chinchwad secure a top national ranking in cleanliness surveys.
