Pimpri Chinchwad, 15th May 2026: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) on Friday carried out a demolition drive against unauthorised constructions in New Sangvi under Ward No. 31 of the civic bodyтАЩs H ward office jurisdiction.
During the action, civic officials demolished three illegal RCC structures spread across nearly 130 square metres in the Netaji Nagar, Gangarde Nagar, Vinayak Nagar and Gajanan Nagar areas.
The drive was conducted on the instructions of Municipal Commissioner Vijay Suryawanshi and under the supervision of H ward officer Pooja Dudhanale.
The operation involved deputy engineer Pratap More, junior engineer Jaywant Rokade and members of the civic demolition squad, including beat inspectors Rohan Kamble, Prafull Bhokare and Suraj Mane. A team of 18 Maharashtra Security Force personnel was deployed during the drive.
The civic body used one JCB machine, three tractor breakers and a team of 10 labourers to carry out the demolition.
In a statement, Commissioner Suryawanshi said the civic administration would continue taking action against illegal constructions and encroachments across the city.
тАЬCitizens should undertake construction only after obtaining the required permissions and by following prescribed rules. Strict action will be taken against unauthorised constructions and encroachments,тАЭ he said.
