Pimpri, 20th May 2026: The Anti-Terrorism Cell (ATC) of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police has registered a case against the owner of a private security agency for allegedly failing to conduct police verification of a security guard hired through the agency.
The action comes after the security guard allegedly attempted to molest four minor girls, aged between five and 10 years, in a housing society in Moshi on his very first day of work.
Police said the 40-year-old owner of the security agency, based in Moshi, had hired a 24-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh as a security guard without completing the mandatory police verification process.
After the incident came to light, the Pimpri-Chinchwad ATC conducted an inquiry to verify whether the accused guard and other workers employed through the agency had undergone police verification. During the investigation, officials found that the agency owner had failed to complete the verification process for the security guards.
Based on the findings, a case has been registered against the agency owner under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Police said further investigation into the matter is underway.
