Pimpri Chinchwad, 20th May 2026: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Vijay Suryawanshi on Wednesday held a meeting with representatives of the Chikhali-Moshi-Charholi-Pimpri Chinchwad Housing Society Federation to discuss several pending civic issues, including water supply, Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited (MNGL) services connections and additional taxes imposed on housing society amenities.
According to federation president Sanjeevan Sangale, detailed discussions were held on irregular water supply to housing societies, alleged violations of builder undertakings related to water arrangements, and the additional amenities tax levied by the civic body.
During the meeting, federation members demanded strict action against builders who had allegedly failed to honour undertakings submitted to the municipal corporation assuring water supply at their own expense. The federation also demanded that builders be directed to continue supplying water to societies as promised and reimburse societies for expenses incurred on alternative water arrangements.
Another major issue raised was the alleged failure of several builders to install Organic Waste Converter (OWC) machines in residential projects. Federation members demanded action not only against the concerned builders but also against civic officials who had issued completion certificates to such projects despite the absence of mandatory infrastructure.
The federation further urged the municipal corporation to withdraw the additional tax imposed on amenities provided in housing societies from the current financial year.
Officials said Commissioner Vijay Suryawanshi responded positively to the demands and assured that the civic administration would examine action against errant builders, recovery of water supply expenses from developers, ensuring water supply through builders as per undertakings, and possible relief regarding the additional amenities tax.
Sangale said the federation firmly presented the concerns of housing society residents and sought protection of what it described as the тАЬlegitimate rightsтАЭ of flat owners in rapidly developing suburban areas of Pimpri Chinchwad.
