Pimpri Chinchwad, 27th May 2026: Representatives of the Pimpri Chinchwad Cooperative Housing Society Federation on Wednesday met Police Commissioner Vinoy Kumar Choubey and submitted a memorandum highlighting key civic and public safety concerns affecting residents across the city.
The delegation, led by newly elected federation president Sachin Londhe, raised issues related to expansion of CCTV surveillance, completion of pending Smart City projects, crime prevention measures and safety of women, senior citizens and school students. Traffic congestion and road discipline were also among the major concerns discussed during the meeting.
Arun Deshmukh, president of the Park Street Senior Citizens Association, praised the Pimpri Chinchwad policeтАЩs mobile application designed for senior citizens, describing it as useful and reassuring for elderly residents.
He also highlighted complaints related to autorickshaw services and alleged financial exploitation of commuters, especially senior citizens and women, by ride-hailing platforms such as Ola, Uber and Rapido.
Police Commissioner Choubey assured the delegation that the concerns raised during the meeting had been noted and appropriate action would be initiated. He also appreciated the role played earlier by Londhe and federation secretary Sachin Gunale in helping address traffic-related issues in Hinjewadi.
Responding to the commissionerтАЩs remarks, Londhe said the federation would continue to support police initiatives aimed at public welfare.
Additional Commissioners of Police Sarang Awhad and Basavaraj Teli were also present during the interaction.
