Pimpri Chinchwad, 3rd June 2026: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) on Wednesday carried out a demolition drive against unauthorized constructions spread across approximately 12,000 sq ft Hotel Majestic premises in Akurdi.
The action was undertaken by the civic body’s ‘A’ ward office under Ward No. 15. Officials demolished unauthorized RCC structures and tin sheds located in and around the Hotel Majestic premises.
The drive was conducted under the directions of Municipal Commissioner Vijay Suryawanshi and supervised by Additional Commissioner Tripti Sandbhor. A Ward Officer Nivedita Gharge oversaw the operation.
A team comprising officials from the building permission department, civic engineering staff and anti-encroachment personnel participated in the action. Around 20 police personnel from Nigdi police station were deployed to maintain law and order during the operation.
The civic body used three JCB machines, one Poklain excavator and a team of labourers to clear the structures.
Municipal Commissioner Vijay Suryawanshi said unauthorized constructions hinder planned urban development and would continue to face strict action. He urged citizens to obtain all necessary permissions before undertaking any construction activity and comply with civic regulations.
