Pimpri, 29th November 2025: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) recently concluded a month-long sanitation enforcement campaign that resulted in fines amounting to Rs 28,12,200 for various violations across all eight zones. The strong action reflects the civic administrationтАЩs renewed focus on improving waste management standards and maintaining cleaner public spaces.
Throughout the drive, PCMC teams inspected residential areas, commercial establishments and public spaces to identify non-compliance with sanitation rules.
Offences most frequently penalised included:
-Dumping garbage in public areas
-Not segregating wet and dry waste
-Violations of plastic ban norms
-Commercial units failing to maintain two dustbins
-Disposal of construction debris at unauthorised locations
In parallel with enforcement, PCMC also carried out sustained public awareness efforts, urging citizens to adopt responsible waste practices and avoid actions that compromise urban hygiene.
The campaign was conducted under the supervision of Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar, Additional Commissioner Vijaykumar Khorate, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Pradeep Thengal and Assistant Commissioner Amit Pandit.
Zonal officers Nivedita Gharge, Rajaram Salgar, Ajinkya Yeole, Ashwini Gaikwad, Tanaji Narale, Kishor Nanaware, Atul Patil and Pooja Dudhnale, along with Assistant Health Officers Raju Sable, Sudhir Waghmare, Tanaji Date, Shantaram Mane, Rajesh Bhat, Kishor Darwade, Mahesh Adhav and Ankush Zhite, coordinated extensive ground-level checks with support from a large team of health inspectors.

Highlighting the need for sustained public participation, Deputy Commissioner (Health) Dr. Pradeep Thengal emphasised that every resident has a role to play in maintaining the cityтАЩs hygiene standards. He noted that strict action would continue against those who disregard sanitation norms.
The latest enforcement push has strengthened PCMCтАЩs efforts to promote disciplined waste management while also improving public understanding of sanitation responsibilities. Officials believe that consistent monitoring, coupled with awareness outreach, will significantly enhance cleanliness levels in Pimpri Chinchwad in the months ahead.
