Pimpri, 10th December 2025: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s (PCMC) primary education department has kicked off the much-awaited Arts and Sports Festival 2025, generating tremendous enthusiasm across all municipal schools. Designed to identify and encourage talent at multiple levels, the festival is being conducted in three phases—school level, divisional level (December 15–21) and the final municipal level (December 22–24). With vibrant participation from students in every school, the initiative is emerging as a major platform for creativity, confidence building and holistic development.
Conceptualised under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Shrawan Hardikar and Additional Commissioner Trupti Sandbhor, the festival has been organised by the Primary Education Department under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Mamta Shinde, Administrative Officer Sangeeta Bangar and Arts Nodal Officer Shrikant Chougule. Officials shared that the event is not merely a competition but a structured effort to nurture expression, teamwork, physical strength and cultural appreciation among students.
This year’s arts segment features a wide range of traditional and contemporary categories including folk dance, group singing, painting and rangoli. Schools are witnessing an atmosphere of celebration as students showcase creativity through rhythm, colour and cultural performances.
In the sports segment, track and field events—such as running, long jump, shot put and discus throw—are being held alongside group sports like kabaddi, kho-kho and lezim. These activities are helping build discipline, determination, teamwork and resilience among students. The turnout from students, teachers and school heads has shown that the festival has become an integral part of the school calendar, inspiring active participation across all campuses.
