Pimpri-Chinchwad, 19th December 2025: In view of the anticipated crowd near vote-counting centres for the Talegaon Dabhade, Chakan and Alandi Municipal Council elections, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police have announced temporary traffic diversions to ensure smooth and safe vehicular movement on Sunday, December 21.
The traffic restrictions will be in force from early morning until 8 pm, or until the completion of the counting process. The notification was issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Vivek Patil. Except for emergency services such as police vehicles, fire tenders, ambulances, election-duty vehicles, and transport of essential commodities, including vegetables and milk, all other vehicles will be barred from entering roads leading to the counting centres.
Vote counting will be conducted at the new municipal council building in Talegaon Dabhade, Meera Mangal Karyalaya near Chakan Market Yard, and the Alandi Municipal Council office, prompting the need for traffic regulation in the surrounding areas.

Vehicles from Chakan Gaothan and Mahatma Phule Chowk will not be allowed towards Market Yard and Market Yard Chowk. Vehicles coming from the Khed side will be prohibited from entering Chakan city limits during the counting period.
Traffic will be restricted on several roads in the Markal, Vadgaon Ghenand, Dehufata, Yogiraj Chowk and Municipal Council Chowk areas. Vehicles heading towards Pune, Chakan and Alandi should use alternative routes via Vadgaon Chowk, Chakan Chowk, 40-Feet Road, Jog Maharaj Dharamshala, and the MarkalтАУVadgaon route.
Police have appealed to motorists to plan their travel accordingly, cooperate with traffic personnel on duty, and follow diversion signage to avoid inconvenience.
