Pimpri-Chinchwad, 20th December 2025: A case has been registered against a groom and another individual for allegedly using forged documents to falsely claim that the groom was 21 years old in order to get married. The incident occurred on October 22, 2025, at a marriage hall in Alandi.
A 48-year-old man from Indapur taluka lodged a complaint at the Alandi Police Station on December 12. Based on the complaint, police registered a case against the groom and his accomplice.
Senior Police Inspector Bhima Narke said the groom had not completed 21 years of age at the time of the marriage. He allegedly prepared a fake school leaving certificate and Aadhaar card to show that he was of legal age. Using these forged documents, he married the complainantтАЩs daughter at the Alandi marriage hall, thereby allegedly cheating the woman and the marriage hall owner.
Police Sub-Inspector Kumar Girigosavi is investigating the case.
