Pimpri-Chinchwad, 30th December 2025: The nomination process for the forthcoming Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) elections picked up significant momentum on Monday, with a surge in filings across the city. Election officials reported that 525 candidates submitted their nomination papers in a single day, bringing the total number of nominations received so far to 574.
Officials noted that several aspirants have filed multiple nomination forms, including on behalf of different political parties as well as as independents. This pattern suggests potential shifts in political affiliations and last-minute strategic adjustments as parties and candidates await final ticket confirmations.
With the nomination deadline approaching, election authorities expect a further spike in applications, suggesting that the political landscape in Pimpri-Chinchwad may remain fluid until the final list of contestants is published. Multiple candidates contesting from the same wards and overlapping party claims are expected to add to the competitive intensity of the polls.
Among the eight regional election offices, the тАШBтАЩ Regional Office recorded the highest number of nominations on Monday, with 106 candidates filing papers. It was followed by the тАШHтАЩ Regional Office, which received 75 nominations. The тАШFтАЩ Regional Office saw the lowest turnout, with 28 applications.
