Pimpri-Chinchwad, 2nd February 2026: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday named corporator Ravi Landge from the Bhosari constituency as its candidate for Mayor of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). The party has also chosen corporator Sheetal, popularly known as Veejay Gorakh Shinde, as its nominee for the post of Deputy Mayor.
The decision was announced by BJP Maharashtra State President Ravindra Chavan. Both Landge and Shinde have already filed their nomination papers and are set to be formally elected on February 6.
Party sources said the appointments reflect the BJPтАЩs strategy to strengthen its leadership in the PCMC ahead of key civic initiatives in the industrial township.
In an official communication to BJPтАЩs Pimpri-Chinchwad unit, state office-bearers and local legislators, Chavan confirmed the finalisation of the two names and directed party leaders to complete the remaining procedural steps at their respective levels.
With the mayoral and deputy mayoral posts decided, the focus will now shift to the civic bodyтАЩs priorities, including infrastructure, public services and urban development in Pimpri-Chinchwad.
