Pimpri Chinchwad, 2nd April 2026: Heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds in the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) limits on Thursday led to multiple emergency incidents, officials from the fire brigade said.
Between 2.14 pm and 7.25 pm, the fire control room received several distress calls, including one incident of fire at an electrical distribution point (DP), 17 cases of tree falls, and a wall collapse in the Ravet area.
No casualties or injuries were reported in the tree fall incidents. However, in several cases, parked vehicles were damaged after trees fell on them, causing property loss.
Fire brigade officials said the entire emergency response system was activated under the leadership of fire officer Rishikant Chipade. A total of 10 fire tenders, two rescue vans, and around 80 personnel were deployed to manage the situation and bring incidents under control.
