Hinjawadi, 19th April 2026: Commuters travelling through Hinjawadi Phase-2 are likely to face significant traffic congestion over the next few days due to ongoing repair work on a damaged underground power cable, the Pimpri Chinchwad Traffic Police said on Sunday.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Vivek Patil, the affected stretch lies between Wipro Circle and MIDC Circle, specifically below Metro Station No. 3 (PMR-3), opposite Dohler Company. The road has been dug up to fix a technical fault in a cable belonging to the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL), leaving only one lane open for vehicular movement.
тАЬDue to the ongoing cable repair work, only a single lane is operational on this stretch, and heavy congestion is expected during peak hours. Motorists are advised to avoid travelling between Wipro Circle and MIDC Circle in Phase-2 unless absolutely necessary,тАЭ Patil said.
Traffic congestion is expected to intensify during peak hours, particularly between 8 am and 11 am in the morning and 4 pm to 8 pm in the evening.
The traffic police have urged commuters to plan their routes in advance, avoid the affected stretch as far as possible, and cooperate with traffic personnel on duty to ensure smoother vehicular movement.
Officials said the repair work is currently underway and is likely to be completed by April 30, 2026. Until then, commuters are advised to exercise caution and expect delays while travelling through the Hinjawadi Phase-2 area.
