Pimpri Chinchwad, 23rd April 2026: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has intensified its crackdown on unauthorised hoardings and unlicensed advertising structures across the city, removing several illegal billboards in a fresh enforcement drive on Thursday.
The action was carried out by the civic bodyтАЩs Sky Signs and Licensing Department as part of an ongoing campaign against advertisement boards erected without prior permission.
Officials said that under Sections 244 and 245 of the Maharashtra Municipal Corporations Act, along with provisions of the Maharashtra governmentтАЩs Advertisement Regulation and Control Rules dated May 9, 2022, prior approval from the municipal corporation is mandatory before installing advertising hoardings even on private land.
