Pimpri Chinchwad, 13th June 2026: In a bid to strengthen first- and last-mile connectivity for metro commuters, Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation (Maha Metro) has launched a shared feeder auto-rickshaw service from the PCMC Metro Station in collaboration with the Rickshaw Panchayat.
The initiative aims to make travel to and from metro stations more convenient, affordable and seamless for passengers by bridging the gap between residential areas and the metro network.
According to Maha Metro officials, the service is expected to complement public transport and reduce the difficulties faced by commuters in accessing metro stations, particularly in areas where direct public transport options are limited.
Speaking on the occasion, officials said such initiatives are essential to providing commuters with a smoother and more integrated travel experience and to increasing the use of public transport.
The shared feeder auto service has initially been introduced on four routes from PCMC Metro Station тАФ Pimple Saudagar, Kalewadi Phata, Chapekar Chowk and Chikhali.
Officials said additional routes may be added in the future based on commuter response and demand. The move is part of Maha MetroтАЩs efforts to improve accessibility and encourage greater use of the Pune Metro network.
