Wakad, 11th October 2025: A 26-year-old woman was brutally murdered by her partner at a lodge in Wakad on Saturday afternoon after he allegedly found intimate photos of her with another man on her phone. Police have arrested the accused, who later surrendered at Kondhwa Police Station and confessed to the crime.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Vishal Gaikwad of Pimpri-Chinchwad Police said that the accused, identified as Dilawar Singh (25), a resident of Pisoli, Pune, had been in a relationship with Mary Mallesh Telugu (26), a resident of Dehu Road.
тАЬToday, the senior police inspector of Kondhwa Police Station informed us that a man had come to the police station and confessed to killing his girlfriend. He claimed he was in a relationship with her but suspected she was cheating on him. He took her to a lodge in Kalakhadak, within the Wakad Police Station limits, this afternoon. After checking her mobile phone, he allegedly found objectionable photos and, in a fit of rage, attacked her with a knife and an iron rod he had brought with him,тАЭ said DCP Vishal Gaikwad.
Following the information, a police team from Wakad rushed to the Ambience Lodge in Kalakhadak, where the womanтАЩs body was found inside the room.
тАЬOur team immediately visited the spot and confirmed the incident. The body was found in the lodge room, and we have initiated legal proceedings. A case is being registered at Wakad Police Station,тАЭ DCP Gaikwad added.
The police have taken the accused into custody and are investigating the motive and sequence of events leading to the murder.
Further investigation is being carried out by Wakad Police under the supervision of senior officers.
