Pimpri Chinchwad, 13th November 2025: Disturbing CCTV footage has surfaced from Charholi, capturing the brutal murder of a 37-year-old man inside a Toyota Fortuner car on Wednesday evening. The video shows the sheer ruthlessness of the act, which took place following an argument among friends.
The victim has been identified as Nitin Shankar Gilbile, a resident of Wadmukhwadi. According to his brother, Sachin Gilbile, who lodged a complaint at the Dighi Police Station, Nitin was killed after a heated altercation with acquaintances near Shri Sai Road Carrier on Alankapuram 90 Feet Road around 6 p.m.
Police have booked Amit Jeevan Pathare (35) of Charholi and Vikrant Thakur of Solu, Khed under Sections 103 (murder) and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with relevant provisions of the Arms Act, 1959, and the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951.
As per the investigation, Nitin had arrived at the spot in a Toyota Fortuner (MH 14 LL 8900) along with two friends. While they were seated inside the vehicle, an argument broke out over personal issues. Nitin briefly stepped out but re-entered the car after exchanging a few words. Moments later, one of the accused allegedly shot him in the head at point-blank range, killing him instantly.
The assailants then dumped his body outside the car, running the vehicle over his legs before fleeing the scene.
Upon receiving the alert, teams from Dighi Police Station and the Crime Branch reached the location and began a search operation for the absconding suspects.
Senior Police Inspector Pramod Wagh, in-charge of Dighi Police Station, said, тАЬA case of murder has been registered, and we are investigating all angles. Five dedicated teams have been formed to track down the accused. They will be arrested soon.тАЭ
The motive behind the murder remains under investigation, though police suspect a fallout within the friend group may have triggered the crime.
