Pimpri-Chinchwad, 15th January 2026: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Elections 2026 recorded an approximate voter turnout of 60 percent on Thursday, indicating steady participation across wards. Election officials said polling remained largely peaceful, with no major incidents reported during the day.
The counting of votes will begin at 10 am on Friday, January 16, 2026, at eight designated counting centres across the municipal limits, PCMC Commissioner and Election Officer Shravan Hardikar said. Only authorised personnel carrying valid identity cards issued by the election department will be allowed entry into the counting centres.
Arrangements for traffic regulation, parking and a separate media enclosure have been put in place at all counting venues. Officials said a computerised system will be used during result declaration to ensure accuracy and transparency.
Counting details ward-wise
For wards 10, 14, 15 and 19, counting will be held at the Local Body Tax Office, Hedgewar Bhavan, Pradhikaran, Sector 26, Nigdi. Ward 10 will have 17 rounds of counting, wards 14 and 19 will have 18 rounds each, while ward 15 will have 15 rounds.
Counting for wards 16, 17, 18 and 22 will take place at the small hall of the Auto Cluster, Chinchwad. Wards 16 and 22 will have 14 rounds each, while wards 17 and 18 will have 16 rounds each.
Wards 2, 6, 8 and 9 will be counted at Sant Dnyaneshwar Sports Complex, Indrayani Nagar, Bhosari. Ward 2 will have 21 rounds, ward 6 will have 17 rounds, ward 8 will have 20 rounds and ward 9 will have 18 rounds of counting.
Counting for wards 25, 26, 28 and 29 will be conducted at the D Ward Office, AundhтАУRavet BRT Road, Rahatani. Wards 25 and 29 will have 20 rounds each, while wards 26 and 28 will have 21 rounds each.
For wards 3, 4, 5 and 7, the strong room will be on the ground floor and counting on the first floor of the Kabaddi Training Centre, behind Ankushrao Landge Natyagruha, Bhosari. Ward 3 will have 18 rounds, while wards 4, 5 and 7 will have 16 rounds each.
Wards 1, 11, 12 and 13 will be counted at Gharakul Chikhali Town Hall, near Sector 17/19, Spine Road, in front of C-1 building, Chikhali. Ward 1 will have 17 rounds, ward 11 will have 16 rounds, ward 12 will have 14 rounds and ward 13 will have 15 rounds.
Counting for wards 21, 23, 24 and 27 will be held at Late Shankar (Anna) Gavade Smruti Kamgar Bhavan, Thergaon. Ward 21 will have 17 rounds, ward 23 will have 10 rounds, ward 24 will have 14 rounds and ward 27 will have 16 rounds.
Wards 20, 30, 31 and 32 will be counted at the PCMC Kasarwadi Vegetable Market (two-storey hall), Kasarwadi, with counting on the ground floor and the strong room on the second floor. Ward 20 will have 20 rounds, ward 30 will have 16 rounds, ward 31 will have 19 rounds and ward 32 will have 17 rounds.
With the counting scheduled to begin early Friday, political parties and candidates are gearing up for a closely watched result in the Pimpri-Chinchwad civic elections, which will determine the future leadership of one of MaharashtraтАЩs most important industrial and residential urban bodies.
