Pimpri, 25th February 2026: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) will organise the ‘Pawanathadi’ fair from February 25 to March 1, 2026, to provide a dedicated platform for women’s self-help groups and promote local entrepreneurship.
The five-day fair is being hosted by the Social Development Department of PCMC at the PWD Ground in Sangvi. Along with shopping, visitors will be treated to a series of cultural programmes scheduled every evening.
According to civic officials, the initiative aims to encourage women entrepreneurs by offering them direct access to consumers. Stalls featuring food items, household products, traditional handicrafts and other locally made goods prepared by women’s self-help groups have been set up at the venue. The event is expected to help generate income opportunities while providing a marketplace for local products.
Mayor Ravi Landge has appealed to citizens to attend the fair in large numbers and support women-led enterprises.
Several prominent leaders are expected to attend the inauguration and other events during the fair. Among those invited are Union Minister of State for Cooperation and Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Pune District Guardian Minister Sunetra Pawar, Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, Agriculture Minister Dattatray Bharane, Deputy Chairperson of the Legislative Council Neelam Gorhe, Assembly Deputy Speaker Anna Bansode and Minister of State for Urban Development Madhuri Misal.
Members of Parliament Medha Kulkarni, Supriya Sule, Shrirang Appa Barne and Dr Amol Kolhe, along with MLAs Uma Khapre, Amit Gorkhe, Mahesh Landge, Shankar Jagtap and Shankar Mandekar, are also expected to remain present.
Advocate Goraksh Lokhande, Member of the Maharashtra State Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Commission, PCMC Commissioner Shravan Hardikar, Deputy Mayor Sharmila Babar, Leader of the House Prashant Shitole, Opposition Leader Bhausaheb Bhoir and other corporators will also attend.
Additional Commissioners Vijaykumar Khorate, Trupti Sandbhor and Vikrant Bagade, along with Deputy Commissioner of the Social Development Department Mamata Shinde and other civic officials, are expected to be present.
Cultural programmes at the fair will begin daily at 6 pm.

February 26 – Popular “Home Minister” show
February 27 – Orchestra Musical Stars
February 28 – “Folk Sanskruti”
March 1 – “The Folk Lavani”
The civic body said the fair is designed to combine commerce with culture, creating both economic and entertainment opportunities for residents of Pimpri-Chinchwad.
