Pimpri Chinchwad, 30th March 2026: Traders in Pimpri Camp on Monday observed bandh for nearly three hours, alleging harassment by officials conducting copyright inspection raids.
The protest was triggered after a team of officials carried out a raid at a shop in the Sai Chowk area on Monday afternoon. As word spread, traders in the locality shut their establishments and gathered in protest against what they termed repeated and arbitrary acrion.
Pimpri Merchant Federation president Shrichand Asvani alleged that such raids have taken place multiple times in the past without adherence to due legal procedures. He claimed that traders were being pressured and subjected to undue demands under the guise of copyright enforcement.
тАЬShops remained closed for nearly three hours as a mark of protest,тАЭ Asvani said, adding that traders were compelled to respond collectively to highlight their concerns.
He said that the traders community will remain united and resist any coercive actions by authorities in the future.
