Pimpri Chinchwad, 31st March 2026: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has once again achieved a major milestone in property tax collection, recording revenue of Rs 947 crore for the financial year 2025тАУ26.
This marks the third time the civic body has crossed the Rs 900-crore mark.
Out of around 7.32 lakh registered properties in the city, as many as 6,27,790 property owners paid their taxes this year. Civic officials said the number of taxpayers has been steadily increasing, reflecting a positive response from citizens.
Mayor Ravi Landge and Municipal Commissioner Vijay Suryawanshi thanked citizens for their cooperation, stating that tax compliance plays a crucial role in the cityтАЩs development.
Officials said that despite a three-month slowdown due to civic election duties, the tax collection department managed to surpass last yearтАЩs collection of Rs 940 crore. They added that the figure could have crossed Rs 1,000 crore under normal circumstances.
The civic body undertook several measures to boost collections, including action against defaulters through property seizures, disconnection of water supply, and public disclosure of major defaulters. Awareness campaigns were also conducted through hoardings, pamphlets, social media and public announcements.
To facilitate payments, both online and offline options were made available, along with rebate schemes. Door-to-door visits, notices and pre-attachment actions were also carried out to recover pending dues.
Under the Amnesty Scheme, aimed at providing relief to defaulters, 83,470 property owners availed benefits between March 1 and 31. During this period, Rs 197.18 crore was collected, with rebates amounting to Rs 45.13 crore.
Zone-wise, the Wakad ward recorded the highest collection at over Rs 117 crore, followed by Thergaon (Rs 97.61 crore) and Chinchwad (Rs 77.34 crore). Other zones also reported substantial contributions to the overall revenue.
Officials said the consistent rise in tax collection over the years highlights improved compliance and administrative efforts, adding that planning for the next financial year has already begun to further increase revenue.
