Pimpri Chinchwad, 31st March 2026: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal commissioner Vijay Suryawanshi has directed officials to complete all nullah desilting works in the city before the onset of the monsoon, stressing that the work must be carried out in a timely and quality-driven manner. He also ordered strict action against unauthorised constructions and establishments obstructing drainage channels.
The directions were issued during a review meeting of the civic bodyтАЩs health department held on Tuesday. Suryawanshi emphasised the need to strengthen the system to prevent waterlogging during the monsoon and ensure minimal inconvenience to citizens. тАЬCleanliness is a collective responsibility and citizens must strictly follow waste management rules,тАЭ he said.
He also covered monsoon disaster management, climate change preparedness, enforcement of the plastic ban and availability of medical facilities during the summer.
The civic officials said that desilting work is underway across 145 nullahs spanning around 94,913 metres in the city. The progress, which stood at 4.99% on March 16, increased to 13.83% by March 23 and reached 22.67% by March 30.
Zone-wise, the тАШFтАЩ ward recorded the highest progress at 32.22%, followed by тАШAтАЩ (28.28%) and тАШEтАЩ (25.63%). The тАШBтАЩ (24.67%) and тАШGтАЩ (24.33%) wards also showed steady progress.
