Mahalunge, 7th January 2026: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) received an enthusiastic response from residents during a padyatra organised in the Mahalunge area, with large participation from citizens across neighbourhoods. The outreach witnessed growing public involvement in every subdivision, reflecting heightened local engagement ahead of the upcoming civic elections.
During the padyatra, NCP leaders and candidates interacted directly with residents through door-to-door visits, holding discussions on civic amenities, ongoing development works and expectations related to future infrastructure planning. Citizens raised issues concerning basic facilities and shared suggestions for local development during these interactions.
The padyatra was led by NCPтАЩs official candidate Gayatri Medhe-Kokate, along with party leaders Baburao Chandere, Parvati Nimhane and Amol Balwadkar. The leaders presented the partyтАЩs development agenda and outlined their approach towards local governance, administrative accountability and long-term planning for the area.
Meanwhile, several leaders who recently joined the NCP during the тАШVijay Sankalp YatraтАЩ earlier this week actively participated in the padyatra, lending support to the party. These included former BJP sarpanch contact head from Kothrud Assembly constituency Kaluram Gulab Gaikwad, former BJP deputy sarpanch and president of the SusтАУMahalunge ward Rajendra Bhima Padale, along with Khandu Kashinath Khaire, Anil Gaikwad, Bhagwan Kamathe, Om Gaikwad and Om Santosh Padale.
A number of local office-bearers and social representatives were also present during the padyatra, including Police Patil Shantaram Padale, Vamanrao Kolekar, Nilesh Padale, Sopanrao Khaire, Sukhdev Kolekar, Vijay Kolekar, Namdevrao Golande, Yuvraj Kolekar, Harishchandra Gaikwad, Jitendra Kolekar, Rahul Dada, Kisan Parde, Kaluram Gaikwad, Rajendra Padale, Nandkumar Padale, Sameer Kolekar, Kisanrao Sutar, Ramrao Padale, Dnyaneshwar Padale, Manoj Padale, Dhanraj Nikalje, Anandarao Kamble, Prakash Tatya and Anil Tatya.
Party functionaries said the strong response to the padyatra reflected growing public awareness about local issues. Residents used the opportunity to directly convey their problems, expectations and development-related suggestions to party leaders. The increasing support for the NCP in the Mahalunge area is being viewed as a significant development in the run-up to the forthcoming elections.
