Ravet, 6th May 2026: A leopard has been sighted in the Ammunition Factory Dehuroad–Durga Devi Tekdi–Ravet–Mhaskewasti belt, prompting concern among residents in surrounding areas. In response, the Forest Department has launched a search operation to trace the animal and ensure public safety.
Preliminary reports suggest that local residents spotted a leopard moving through the area and immediately alerted authorities on Tuesday night. The sighting in a semi-urban and densely populated stretch has led to increased vigilance in nearby localities.
Forest Department teams have been deployed and are carrying out a coordinated search operation across the region, including nearby forest patches and open spaces. Officials are also working in coordination with local police to monitor the situation and restrict public movement in sensitive zones.
The police control room has been informed, and local police teams are assisting in maintaining order and advising residents to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary movement, particularly in isolated areas.
Authorities have urged citizens to stay alert and report any further sightings to the Forest Department or police immediately. The search operation is currently underway.
