Wakad, 12th January 2026: With campaigning for the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) elections entering its final phase, the Bharatiya Janata Party has claimed a decisive lead in Ward No. 25, with party candidate Rahul Kalate expressing confidence that the BJP will secure a clean sweep in the ward and emerge victorious across the civic body.
Kalate said BJP candidates in Wakad, Tathawade and Punawale are campaigning on a development-focused agenda and engaging directly with residents to address civic concerns. He said the growing public support for the BJP and the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is evident across housing societies and residential areas in the ward.
Polling for the PCMC elections is scheduled for January 15. While candidates across all wards are actively campaigning, Ward No. 25 has drawn particular attention due to the BJPтАУRPI alliance consistently highlighting development issues during outreach programmes.
Kalate, who has previously served as a corporator, is citing development works carried out during his earlier tenure as a key strength of his campaign. Along with Kalate, BJPтАЩs official candidates Kunal Wavalkar, Reshma Chetan Bhujbal and Shruti Ram Wakadkar have also been campaigning together, focusing on infrastructure development and civic facilities.
According to the candidates, voters are responding positively to their development-oriented approach, with residents expressing the view that sustained development in the ward is possible only under BJP leadership.
Speaking during the campaign, Kalate urged voters not to fall prey to misinformation and false campaigning. He said the civic elections should be fought on the basis of public trust, past development work and clear plans for the future. He also claimed that Ward No. 25 is emerging as a model ward and that significant changes would be visible in the coming years with the support of Chief Minister Fadnavis.
