Pune, 26th January 2026: Pune is likely to experience cloudy conditions during the night on January 27 as an interaction of opposing winds over Maharashtra increases moisture in the atmosphere. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued a light rainfall alert for parts of North Maharashtra for Tuesday.
The city has already been witnessing a steady rise in both minimum and maximum temperatures. On Monday, Pune’s daytime temperature crossed the 30-degree Celsius mark. Shivajinagar recorded a maximum temperature of 31.6°C, while Lohgaon touched 32.5°C, indicating a gradual warming trend across the region.
According to meteorologists, an approaching Western Disturbance is influencing weather patterns over north and central India. This system, when combined with easterly winds, is expected to increase cloud cover in several parts of Maharashtra, including Pune.
Anupam Kashyapi, former head of the weather and forecasting division at IMD Pune, said the interaction is likely to bring more cloudiness over the next few days. “Light rain is expected over north and central India. Pune may remain partly cloudy with fluctuating temperatures,” he said.
The IMD has advised residents to stay updated with local forecasts, especially those planning early morning or late-night travel.
