Pimpri Chinchwad, 5th March 2026: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) is nearing completion of two modern football grounds in the Pimpri-Chinchwad area, aimed at strengthening sports infrastructure in the Pune Metropolitan Region.
The тАШFootball and Multi-Utility Game ArenaтАЩ projects being developed in Sector 3 and Sector 12 are currently in the final stages of construction and are expected to be opened soon for players and sports enthusiasts.
According to officials, both projects are equipped with international-standard facilities. Nearly 80 percent of the work has been completed at the two locations. The arenas will feature FIFA-standard artificial turf, modern sports infrastructure, and advanced drainage systems that will enable all-weather play throughout the year. Seating arrangements for more than 400 spectators have also been planned.
Additional Metropolitan Commissioner Deepak Singla visited the project sites to review the progress and inspect the quality of work. During the visit, he directed officials to ensure that the projects are completed within the stipulated timeline.

At Sector 3, the facility includes a football turf measuring 44 metres by 30 metres along with a squash court. The site will also have a small stadium with seating capacity for more than 40 spectators. Officials said the utility building, parking facilities and installation of the turf have been completed, and the ground is expected to be operational soon.
Meanwhile, the arena in Sector 12 will feature a full-size football turf built according to FIFA standards, measuring 68 metres by 105 metres. The venue will include a stadium with seating capacity for more than 400 spectators. The base structure of the ground and the drainage system have already been completed, while construction of the utility building is progressing rapidly.
Chief Engineer Rinaj Pathan and other PMRDA officials were also present during the inspection.
Officials said the new facilities are part of PMRDAтАЩs efforts to provide quality sports infrastructure for young athletes and promote Pune as a major sports hub in the region.
