Pimpri, 13th October 2025: A man has been arrested for driving under the influence, arguing with traffic police, and vandalizing property inside a police station. The incident took place at the Chakan Traffic DepartmentтАЩs Enforcement Office.
The arrested accused has been identified as Ganesh Jaywant Kavad (46, Jail Road, Nashik). Traffic Police Constable Dadasaheb Gaikwad lodged a complaint at Mhalunge MIDC Police Station.
According to the police, Kavad, who was under the influence of alcohol, was driving a car at high speed when he collided with another vehicle. Despite being at fault, he demanded compensation from the other driver and got into an argument. Later, he entered the Chakan Traffic Office, abused and assaulted the officers, and obstructed the breath analyzer test. He then smashed two mobile phones, a laptop, and a government printer kept on the table, causing damage to government property. Mhalunge MIDC Police are investigating the case.
