Alandi, 29th December 2025: In a bizarre case of alleged financial deception, the Alandi police have registered a case against four individuals, including a woman, for claiming they could make money ‘rain from the sky’ through black magic rituals. The incident reportedly occurred recently in Chanholi Khurd, under the Alandi Police Station jurisdiction.
Police said the accused lured residents by asserting they possessed supernatural powers capable of generating instant wealth. Using tantravidya and aghori practices, they allegedly coerced and intimidated victims into participating in rituals, promising sudden monetary gains. One of the accused reportedly even offered their home as a venue for these ceremonies.
Authorities believe the group exploited the financial vulnerability and superstitions of local residents to defraud them. The case has been filed under the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and Other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act, 2013. Investigations are ongoing to determine the number of victims and whether others were involved.
Alandi police have urged citizens to remain vigilant and avoid falling prey to such claims, advising anyone witnessing similar incidents to report immediately.
