Pimple Gurav, 16th February 2026: Two warehouses in Pimple Gurav were destroyed after a massive fire, suspected to have been triggered by a short circuit, broke out on Tuesday afternoon. The blaze reduced the structures to ashes within hours, causing extensive damage to stored materials, though no injuries were reported.
The blaze broke out at approximately 12 noon in a warehouse cluster located behind Chandrabhaga Lawns. According to initial reports, the fire originated in one of the storage units and quickly spread to an adjacent structure due to the presence of highly flammable materials, including decorative items and wooden plywood.
Personnel from the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Fire Department responded promptly after receiving the emergency call. Fire tenders were deployed to the scene, and firefighters carried out an intensive operation to contain the flames. Authorities confirmed that the fire was brought under control before it could extend to nearby establishments.
Preliminary assessments indicate that an electrical short circuit may have caused the incident; however, officials stated that the exact cause will be determined after a detailed technical investigation.
While both warehouses were reduced to ashes, no casualties have been reported. Authorities are currently evaluating the total financial losses incurred in the incident. Further inquiries are ongoing.
