Dighi, 12th November 2025: A shocking incident unfolded on Alandi-Dighi Road on Wednesday evening when a man was allegedly shot dead by his friends during a conversation inside a parked car. The deceased has been identified as Nitin Gilbile of Wadmukhwadi, who died on the spot after being shot in the head.
According to Dighi police station (Pimpri Chinchwad police), the incident occurred around 6 p.m., when Nitin was sitting inside a Fortuner along with his friends Amit Pathare of Patharemala and Vikrant Thakur of Wadmukhwadi. While the three were chatting, one of the two suspects reportedly took out a pistol and fired at Nitin from close range. The incident took place near Shri Sai Road Carrier on Alankapuram 90 feet Road.
After the shooting, both accused тАФ Pathare and Thakur тАФ fled the scene. Police teams have launched a manhunt to trace and arrest them.
Officers from Dighi Police Station and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shivaji Pawar rushed to the spot soon after receiving information about the incident. Forensic experts and a dog squad were also called in to collect evidence from the vehicle and the surrounding area.
тАЬThe motive behind the murder is still unclear. Multiple teams are investigating all possible angles, including personal enmity and financial disputes,тАЭ a senior police officer said.
The body of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem, and an FIR is being registered at Dighi Police Station under relevant sections of the BNS and Arms Act.
